Kev is still very very weak and tired. He has been in the bed now for 3 days straight. He hasn't had an opportunity to walk or even sit up for lengthy period of time. His fever last night caused some concern from Dr. Khan, who expressed it is too risky to send Kev home any time soon. His fever is not necessarily a bad thing...
consider:
currently Kev is neutropenic, meaning his white blood cells (among other things) are very low, we all know that white blood cells attack bacteria and other foreign agents in the body, as well as any infection. Without these whites, the only other line of defense the body has is to increase the temperature. In Kev's case fevers are common because the tumors he has remaining, be it large or small, are foreigners to the body. Doctors normally let it ride since the fever isn't accompanied by any pain and what not.
Tomorrow should be the beginning of an upswing in whites. Once he starts feeling better he will be back on the regimented walking and sitting. He was a bit battled today, not liking the fact he is bed ridden and wanting the legs to get back to normal. Even the best fighters take a few cracks to the chin and even get knocked down, but I assure you, Kev will be back up and ready the fight real soon!

Hey Kevin, we've never met but i worked with Brian at KCDL. Anyway, I just wanted to say that you've got a lot of people who are thinking about you and wishing you all the positive energy in the world. I'm sure you've heard it enough to make you want to slap me, but keeping your spirits up works wonders for every situation from the mundane to the complicated. You'll be globe-trotting again in no time flat!
Here's something funny to brighten your day: One time, not so long ago, a group of us went out to Russells' after work. Your brother and I ended up drinking maybe a little too much by the time we got to Harry's. There was some hippie jam band playing so OF COURSE we had to dance...by leading ourselves around by our shirts. Ask Brian to demonstrate. You wont be disappointed. enjoy the day :)
Hi Sunshine. Come on now get those spirits up and positive thoughts going. You are strong and I know you can and will beat this...I miss you and remember
I LOVE YOU!

Kev, I am sorry you are having such a bad time of it. I wish I could take some of it away from you. I know you are made of tough stock and you are going to beat this nasty disease and come out fighting. Remember if our love could heal you, you would be out of the hospital already. We are always here praying and thinking about you. Lots of Love always Denise
