so it starts..

The chemo regiment/ cycle begins again. Kev started this round just as he did the very first go around. Double injection with a drip. Chemotherapy has become old hat around these parts, but Kev is not looking forward to going through the after effects again. The whole process is quite tiresome.

Today Kev was carted off somewhere to do get a culture from his throat, they found a small plaque (results to come later) and an ulcer. They have yet to determine the course of treatment just yet, they are waiting for the biopsy of the plaque. Next we walked and showered, then Physical Therapy came and had him run through some exercises, even brought some weights. Shortly there after Occupational Therapy came and he walked again... accompanied by more exercise. Bad timing equaled a lot of work for Kev. He is walking and getting around very well, gonna be tough getting knocked back down after doing so well!

These next two rounds are going to include 3 intrathecal treatments, which will make things a bit tougher, but it is better than having to make them up in the future. He already missed three that will be made up in january sometime. All in all it was good day... should be good through the weekend before the counts start to drop again, keep'm crossed the side effects won't be that bad.

Kevin,

I had lunch today with some work buddies at the Bubbaloo's Bodacious BBQ out in your old neighborhood in Apopka. This reminded me of the time I met you for dinner just before you left for parts unknown!

It good to hear that your treatment has been moved ahead so you can keep up the pressure on that nasty body invader! Soon you can put all this behind you and get back to doing what you want to do a lot faster.

Remember there are many more holidays in your future so keep your chin up and know the treatments will end sooner this way!

Hang tough!

Love,
bs

Hey Kev, so you are having Turkey Day in the Hospital....Well that is great because I know for a fact that they have some yummy ice cream that you can have for dessert. I would say you could have some of your Mom's chocolate stash but you might get drunk off one piece. It is safe to stick with the ice cream. Tell everyone I said HI and hope to see you soon :) Sharon
